I just cannot get over how beautiful the details and the curves are. I have not been able to put it down since I bought it. Damn work for getting in the way!

My Mandolin
Yesterday I went out and bought myself something special, a mandolin. I've wanted to learn to play bluegrass music my whole life and with our fresh new tax return check I thought it was time. Originally, I was going to buy a banjolele, but it sounded too much like a ukulele, (plus a good one is really expensive) and was just not what I was looking for sound-wise. For years I've wanted to learn the banjo, but when it came right down to it, I was way too intimidated. So, after some research I decided on the mandolin, an instrument I had always admired from afar. They are so aesthetically pleasing and sound so beautiful. I spoke with a couple of local people and found one I was comfortable with, both price and for my beginner needs and now I'm the proud owner of a mandolin. Now, it's not one of the beautiful F-Styles with the lovely curls, those are EXPENSIVE and for folks that aren't starting out, so one day maybe! Mine is called an A-Style and that's just fine with me.

So pretty and shiny! Hope you have tons of fun learning to play :)
Very nice!! That looks like it will be a lot of fun to learn and master.
I have zero musical talent - but my brother has played guitar for a very long time and has tried to teach me and it's completely frustrating. I give props to you and others who attempt to play such a beast of an instrument!
Soo pretty!! Did you name her?! (I dated a guitar player who named all his guitars) I hope when you start to learn to play her you do little videos so we can see and hear it!!
Fun! I'm thinking about a mandolin someday. I never play my guitar.
Awesome! I can't wait to hear about your adventures in mandolin playing.
